"I, Captain " - an autobiography of Captain Tadeusz Wrona


Tadeusz Wrona, the pilot of PLL LOT, the man who brought the whole world in amazement by landing the Boeing 767 without wheels for the first time in history, is the author of the autobiography “I, Captain”. On October 21st at the Belvedere restaurant the book promotion took place. The meeting was led by famous radio journalist Tadeusz Sznuk, and it was attended by author’s family and friends, representatives of the media, opinion leaders, artists, airline industry and rectors of universities.

Those who will read the autobiography will have the opportunity to read what Tadeusz Wrona felt at the moment when the life of many people was in his hands, and also to find out the story of his whole life.

In his book the Captain describes his dreams, passions, ideals and writes about overcoming obstacles and explains how to use happy coincidences. He describes his life from a recruit, who makes his first steps in the sport of gliding to the Captain of the most modern passenger aircraft in the world - the Dreamliner.

The Captain was interested in aviation from the childhood. He was building the wooden airplane models together with his father. After reaching the age of maturity he joined the Lubusz Land Aeroclub. Following his first glider flight, he said:
"I enjoyed each second of this flight and I knew that flying was what I would like to do in my whole life. Moreover,  this is what I am going to do in future."

The book can be an inspiration to all the people who have a passion. The author demonstrates that if a man has a dream , he should strive to achieve it. He believes that with persistence and consistency everybody can become a hero.

The autobiography was published in 2013 by Wydawnictwo Poznańskie.
