Polish singer-stars in the Christmas concert in Pelplin


Since thirteen years Polpharma, in the interiors of the Cathedral of the Assumption of  the Blessed Virgin Mary in Pelplin, has been organizing a Christmas concert. The Cathedral built by the Order of Cistercians impresses with its unique architecture. The late renaissance altar is the biggest in Poland and one of the largest in Europe. The most valuable exhibit of the Diocesan Museum is the only Polish copy of the Gutenberg Bible.

Every year the greatest Polish artists take part in the concert, like Kayah, Stanisław Soyka, Aleksandra Kurzak, Sebastian Karpiel-Bułecka, soloists of the Grand Theater, Ewa Małas-Godlewska, Alicja Węgorzewska, Piotr Cugowski, pop-gospel band „Trzecia godzina Dnia” with Mietek Szcześniak, Natalia Kukulska and many others. This year, for the first time in the Christmas carols repertoire of Christmas we could hear Natasza Urbańska. Also performing rock singers Kasia Kowalska and Grzegorz Markowski. Poznań group, Audiofeels group presented a new, vocal play  carol arrangements. Among the artists, appeared also a 9 year old Zuzanna  Hawryluk, a schoolgirls of the State School of Music in Warsaw. The concert was hosted by Grażyna Torbicka. Event production made by BCMFD Media Communications. 
 
Janusz Stokłosa, known Polish composer, has been acting as an artistic director and the conductor of the concert. The artists are accompanied by:
*    Baltic Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra from Gdansk. The orchestra, founded 68 years ago, it is one of the best symphony group in Poland. It co-operates with the best soloists and conductors in the country and the whole world. 
*    Polish Chamber Choir, celebrating this year 35th anniversary. It is one of the few world professional chamber choirs. Many of the world-known composers dedicate them their works - among many others, Henryk Mikołaj Górecki, Krzysztof Penderecki, Wojciech Kilar, Augustyn Bloch, Krzysztof Meyer or Paweł Łukaszewski.

Christmas concert organized by Polpharma in Pelplin Cathedral is the Christmas gift for the company employees, partners and residents of Kociewie town. The concert was held on December 20th at 7.30 p.m. Admission free. This year concert was broadcasted by Polish Television, Channel 2 (TVP2) on the 24
December 2013 at 4.50 p.m.
