Introduction of the new interior design of Belvedere Restaurant

Belvedere Restaurant is one of the most beautiful and interesting points on the culinary map of Poland. It combines unique design, excellent cuisine and remarkable history. September 17 marked the official opening of the new design and presentation of the latest, autumn menu card.

Building on more than 150-year history, in which for nearly 20 years is placed a restaurant Belvedere, it’s a New Orangery (also known as the Palm House). It was built of iron and glass in the second half of the nineteenth century - in order to accommodate increased, thanks to the acquisition of the Radziwił great collection of orange trees, a collection of plant emissions.

In 2014 the Interior of the restaurant has undergone a complete refurbishment. Following the example of King Stanislaw August, who employed the best artists such as: Dominik Merlini, Jan Christian Kamsetzer, Marcello Bacciarelli, André Le Brun, a new project of interior design was given to the remarkable designer and production designer of Operas and Theatres. It is the Boris Kudlička – cooperating with artists and institutions around the world, an interior designer, partner of architectural studio WWAA. With his solutions, the restaurant so firmly inscribed in the historical surroundings, has become a work of modern design at the highest, worldwide level.

"Work on the shape of Belvedere is only a part of our efforts to restore the glory of Royal Łazienki Park" - says Anna Wozniak-Starak, owner of Belvedere Group, and adds - "An important part focused not only to respect the past, but also on to create a new reality. "Leitmotiv characterizing the new interior of the restaurant is a decorative construction of corten, which creates a kind of support for vegetation. Among the crowns of exotic trees, in a
wall of greenery, there are six mezzanine hiding intimate balconies "slot"
.

The combination of the steel structure "corten mesh" with vivid green resembles a kind of installation in the Orangery. Against the background of dense moss-covered walls, in the heart of the restaurant, the bar was installed. Statement of white Corian with which it was made, with red Corten and greenery, creates an interesting sculptural composition. the space of foyer are filled with huge sheets of mirrors and exotic wood. This treatment, through multiplication reflections of light and bark of various trees gives the interior an unusual character. Proposed by Boris Kudlička architecture dialogue, between nature and design is a new approach to the interior and its pereception.

The dishes at the Belvedere Restaurant are prepared under the guidance of Chef Adam Komar, who creates an original, contemporary Polish cuisine. He uses fresh, seasonally available local products. He personally selects components, which are selected from regular suppliers of various Polish regions. For the preparation of dishes he often uses familiar, though somewhat forgotten products such as kale, Jerusalem artichoke, rutabaga or scorzonera. They are not only tasty but also very healthy. A great addition to pheasant, sturgeon or calf thymus.

"In our kitchen we cultivate a healthy cuisine, so very important for us is a way of preparing food and their ingredients - says Adam Komar and adds - In the autumn menu there won’t be missing a typical traditional Polish tastes like saffron milk caps fried in butter, served with cheese dumplings or aromatic mushroom soup with creamy dumplings”.
