Celebration of the World Heart Day 2013 in Lublin


On Sunday, September 29, 2013, the central celebration of World Heart Day was held in Lublin. It was the eleventh time when Polish Association of Cardiology organized this event. In the historic part of the city, on Castle Square, artists and cardiologists invite participants to preventive health care, with special reference to heart disease. Everyone who visited the venue could benefit from the free medical exam , expert advice and the attractions provided by partners of the event.

World Heart Day is an international project initiated by the World Heart Federation with the participation of the World Health Organisation (WHO), UNESCO and Unicef. The central celebration is held every year at the same time in more than 100 countries around the world. The aim of this event is to increase public awareness regarding heart disease and promotion of a healthy lifestyle. The password of this year's celebrations was "Take a Road to a Healthy Heart".

During the World Heart Day in Lublin, various  free medical exams were offered  such as: pressure, glucose and cholesterol, EKG. In mobile clinic everyone could carry out the Echocardiography tests. Educational picnic in Lublin was visited by many famous artists, who encouraged participants to change their lifestyle and give up bad habits.
