Annual Christmas Concert for Polphrama in Pelplin
On Friday, 16 December , in the beautiful scenery of the The Cathedral Basilica in Pelplin, there was a festive concert organized by Polpharma for the employees and the local population.
Star of the evening in Pelplin’s Cathedral was outstanding mezzo-soprano Alicja Węgorzeswska. Also starring alongside Katarzyna Stankiewicz, Zbigniew Wodecki and Andrzej Lampert. The artists accompanied the Polish Chamber Choir and the Polish Baltic Frederic Chopin Philharmonic in Gdansk under the baton of Janusz Stokłosy. After the concert, in the refectory of the Bishop's Curia, the festive event took place.
Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption in Pelplin is one of the finest works of Gothic in Poland. The temple lies a beautiful main altar from the first mid-seventeenth century, with relics of the Saints - the largest in this part of Europe, Baroque altars and medieval oak carvings.
